Can You Flush Hair Down the Toilet? Avoid Clogging Your Pipes!

In addition, Flushing hair down your toilet will eventually lead to clogs, as hair does not break down like other waste. We recommend using a clog remover in your toilet when you find out any hair has been flushed. If the clog has already formed, you may need to use a plunger or even an auger. In fact, to keep your toilet and septic system running optimally, you should never flush anything besides human waste and toilet tissue. Hair does not disintegrate when it hits the water, unlike flushable products.

Medications and Other Hazardous Materials

As you probably already know, your toilet is connected to a water supply. When you flush, a valve is raised and the water from your toilet tank is emptied into the bowl. It’s an entire process that typically takes about 15 seconds. Any kind of liquid and wastewater can be flushed down the toilet.

According to O'Leary Plumbing in Wisconsin, this can result in blockages and even bent or broken pipes. Most people know it’s a bad idea to pour grease down your kitchen sink. Unfortunately, tall buildings are a safety risk, if the enemy can destroy the supporting structures. Obviously, metal is mostly impervious, but it's just a matter of time before something comes out to defeat metal. So if an angry rex comes along and sticks his head through the wall all he sees is a void and another wall. I like using double doors like this (see vid below) for a bit of extra safety in PvE. When you have single doors there is always that risk that you might sleepily head out the front gate without looking outside first and an Alpha could be stood right outside and charge into your base and cause havoc.

Once the shell of your base is complete, it’s time to start furnishing your new island home. Alongside secure storage (ranging from the 12-slot Storage Box and 30-slot Large Storage Box, right through to the 150-slot metal Vault), there are a number of other essential items that you’ll want to add to your base as it expands. Don’t forget, however, that the island is home to many flying creatures, including the Pteranodon, Quetzal and Argentavis.

Rainfall will water Crop Plots, or you can water them manually using a Waterskin, Water Jar or Canteen. If you plan to do a lot of farming, however, you might want to set up a permanent irrigation system using pipes that draw water from the ocean, river or a man-made Water Tank; pipes will turn blue if they are correctly drawing water. Also consider putting them on wander, instead of stationary duty. Odds are better that 20 raptors will be spread out and reasonably catch wind of an enemy better than you trying to park them exactly right and then the enemy finding the gap to sneak past them. Additionally, each Crop Plot must have water and be fertilised.

Note, however, that other players can steal from an open trough, so consider encasing it in a small hut, with access provided through a covered window or locked door. This will keep its contents safe, while still enabling your creatures to feed. In order to build your first base, you’ll need to understand the basics of levelling and Engrams, resource gathering and crafting, and you should have assembled at least a couple of simple tools - ideally, a hatchet and pick.

Trying to duplicate specific buildings, layouts or architecture styles can be a highly frustrating but rewarding challenge. Stone square big enough to raise a few of the bigger dinos in. It's probably worth specifying in your tip/pic if it's PvE or PvP focussed (or both). I am mostly focussed on PvE at the moment, so here's a run-down of the PvE base design seen in the timelapse video below. A great PvE base could be a terrible PvP base, and vice versa. Later, you’ll want to incorporate advanced crafting items into your home, such as the Smithy and Refining Forge, in order to complete more advanced Engrams.

We took a long break from ARK and are only recently playing again on the Center map (official). We've got a nice little behemoth gate enclosure with a barn/house and a few dinos that has a castle vibe to it but want to expand. There's likely some things to consider with building placement in the base.

I've used the airlock style to make a taming pit; a large one. At one base, was literally a large metal square, with 2 b.gates, and also 2 dino gates, and 4 regular doors. Metal fence foundations and metal walls as the inner wall, and double stacked metal spiked walls (using metal pillars to raise the second layer up) as the outer layer. The metal is probably overkill for PvE but we thought it would be fun and look cool.

ark survival evolved base design

If you continue watching the source video, you’ll see how this simple stone base can be reinforced even further with metal. Metal base materials can’t be unlocked until level 45 though; if you’ve lived that long, you probably don’t need much guidance. Regardless, this design should be a solid way to get started. At the simplest, build your wall, then put spiked walls about 10+ feet away from them on the outside to keep long necked critters at bay. That way a raging bronto isn't whacking your wooden home furnishings simply because you built by the wall. As your menagerie grows, you’ll soon realise that feeding multiple creatures can be a huge pain.

In this guide, I’m going to highlight some of the coolest bases I’ve seen to give you inspiration for your own base. Gate, 1 Dino Gate, and 2 Doors, let you into the pit from the base, and then 2nd set of gates and doors allowed you to leave the pit and go into the outside world. This is useful as it allows you kill the Alpha at your leisure, and also to have tribe mates nearby sitting on whatever dino you want to pump some levels into. As well as meaning the body is safe from being eating by other dinos, and giving you prime meat very close to your base and cooker. We get a lot of Alphas spawn near our base (North coast, border of Snow/Beach) and these metal pens have been great for taking full advantage of these. If one spawns near us, we can kite it back to base, lure it in the dino gate, shut it behind it and then jump out the normal door at the front.

Later, however, you can add variously-sized gateway and gate pieces to your perimeter fence, enabling you to move larger creatures in and out of your compound. The first of these - the Dinosaur Gate and Dinosaur Gateway - unlocks at Level 15. Due to the game’s currently wonky collision detection, most predators can attack through walls. As such, don’t assume that leaving your body in your hut will be enough to protect you from outside forces whenever you log off. To be truly safe, you’ll want to consider building a perimeter fence around your base.

Don't really have pictures of the hatchery design per se but in the pic below, that is the hatchery and the baby Rex is actually in the spot where it hatched plus you can see the incubating animation on the eggs behind. We placed the building on pillars and placed the AC's under the floor. We also use greenhouse windows in case we lose track of time we can look in and see the hatchlings running around.

I want to build an ultimate base in single player, but I don't want to build things and then later say "ah shit, I should have built X next to Y." I've not played around with the keypad thing yet but I gather that can open multiple doors at once which may help a little. Deploy the smaller dangerous dinos in the center, like guard dogs. If the enemy gets to the center, your watchdogs can do their job. The center should be tighter confines anyway, which is where these critters should shine (assuming their pathing doesn't suck).

Our ones have been tested with Raptors and Carnos just fine. You can bird-drop dinos in there to tame, and even easily kite bigger dinos into it such as Rexes (we've already done this a few times with the design below). Of course, the other major function your base serves is as a paddock/hatchery/amazing zoo for all the creatures that you’ve tamed.

Best base designs in Ark Survival Ascended

If I'm not inspired by where my base is, my builds always come out dull and lifeless, no character to them at all. I usually try to incorporate the environment into my designs; for example the last time I built on Cragg's Island on The Island, my base design was very open and mainly wood and thatch, had a dock, etc. My current build up by carno point is mostly stone with some wood and glass. My main base build that I did ages ago was entirely metal, but that was before Tek tier and I plan to recreate the design in Tek someday. With your tiny insulated cube in place, you’ve successfully created your first base. However, it probably isn’t very secure; before doing anything else, ensure that all doors leading into your home are locked or pinned to stop intruders from simply waltzing on in.

Tired of building boxes? try this circle-ish design!

He then used Wood Ceilings as the floor and used Wood Walls and Windows, but he put the outside in for a better look. The rest is pretty self-explanatory with a Wooden Roof and Wooden Rails to make the exterior walkways. If on official or unofficial you'll want an enclosed hatchery, if you're on single player or not worried about eggs being jacked an outdoor hatchery gives you a lot more room.

Efficient base designs?

At our mining base, the furnance is behind a dino door with a landing pad, so it is easy to load/unload the furnace from/to a Queztal. Keep the big dinos away from the "center" where the important stuff is.  If you have a bronto sleeping next to your house, when somebody makes it cranky in an attack, it's going to hurt your stuff as much as it hurts the enemy. We're not talking stone/metal stuff, we're talking tables, chairs, ornamental stuff you made with wood because you were tired of all metal construction lameness. Also, at all of my bases I have done, I put an industrial cooker, and a box of gas, on the outside. That way, I can ride/land an animal with Prime right at the cooker, grab a can of gas, light it, and then move the the prime 12 at a time from the animal to the cooker. Once I get a good cadence down, I usually can do a Transfer All, then a second or two later, take off the 12 cooked prime, and while the next 12 are cooking, repeat the process.

To fertilise a Crop Plot, meanwhile, you can place collected feces inside - human feces will last around 10 minutes, while Large Animal Feces can fertilise your crops for around two and a half hours. It’s better, however, to use Fertiliser, which is created by leaving any three Feces and 50 Thatch in a Compost Bin for around 50 minutes. If you’re struggling to find a regular supply of Feces, you can force-feed Stimberries to a tamed Phiomia, making it poop dramatically. Additionally, you should attempt to establish your starter base close to a source of water, such as a river or stream.

New Game Plus to be Available in Stellar Blade at Launch

Not only will this make it easier to quench your thirst and combat extreme heat, it will prove invaluable when it comes to cooking and farming. This is what some of those pvp folk assume our bases look like. The best Titanosaur base walkthrough I’ve seen is the YouTube video by The Pilgrimz Project. He’ll show you how to build a base on the back of a Titanosaur better than I ever could. If you want a step-by-step walkthrough of how to build the Tree House base, check out Aaron Longstaff’s video on YouTube.

Desert Titan Sand Castle

Making enough space for moving big animals through (and turning around), parking all the animals. As well as whether to put buildings/functions closer together. Having the warehousing near the crafting helps, given that's the point of getting supplies.

Regardless of the material you’re using, you’ll always want to lay down a foundation first. You can snap up to four wall pieces to each foundation (or three walls, a doorframe and a door, if you prefer), and a roof piece then rests on your walls. Roof pieces will function as floors if you decide to build further levels above, and these in turn will support more walls. Thatch roofs are the exception here, however, and won’t support a second story.

The first few weeks of the new servers opening up was how long all of this took in our tribe, still have touch up stuff to do. Lastly, just because I think it’s so cool that this is possible in Ark Survival Ascended, you can build a base on the back of a Titanosaur which is the biggest dino in the game. Doing this is very hard because you first need to tame a Titanosaur which takes a really long time and then you need a lot of resources to build the actual base on the back. In our bases, we'd build a warehouse type building with vaults, that you could just drive the dino up to and transfer cargo. The latest version I did, the warehouse had no walls, and the vaults sat on the outside edge. Then inside the building you could have smithy/forges/etc to consume those resources.

ark survival evolved base design

As a result, you’re still susceptible to infiltration and attack from above - even on PvE servers, you can expect egg thieves to hover overhead, waiting to snatch your delicious, yolky wares. Always ensure that your valuables are kept inside, even if it means building a second structure to house them. Fence foundations snap together at the ends, making fence construction a relatively easy process. Initially, you’ll want to add doorframe pieces to your fence so that you can get outside.

Our storage capacity in the actual base building is a bit limited at the moment. Might see if I can make a ring of vaults with a smithy and fab in the middle, where you can access vaults and crafting without having to move. When you’ve gathered everything you need, it’s time to start building your base.

Gates and Dino Gates, with a shoot room built at the dino gate; shoot room is just foundations, stacked door ways, no doors, and then a walkway at the top, incase you want to shoot down into the pit. Both have been used to tame or kill Gigas and Alpha Rexes(one just ran into it on his own...bad luck for him). Next, you’ll want to begin equipping your base with basic crafting and cooking implements. Also, forgot to put this before, but here is our breeding pen. Have the ac's in the upper second row on ceilings/pillars to be closer to the floor then normal. The upper floor you can sorta see in the other picture I posted, one great big greenhouse.

Additionally, should you be unhappy with an item once it has been placed in the world, you can demolish it to recoup half of its original resource cost. As obviously expected, one does not simply exclude Asian architecture and this stunning pagoda, made by Cindewittchen, couldn’t be excluded from this list. Just take a good look at how “spot-on” this building is, compared to the real thing. This is all PvE and we prefer functionality/ease over safety/defense or aesthetics. Also would really like to see others egg hatching/baby area designs.

The email from Carnival notes that passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of a guest’s cruise. Second, if a ship calls on any ports of call outside the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) area, all guests must have a valid passport. The WHTI is a joint program between the US Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security to strengthen border security, and it was implemented in on a phased schedule from 2007 to 2009.

Carnival's comedy shows and musical numbers in the Celebrations Central venues on its newest ships often have more demand than seats available. If you want to guarantee a spot at a specific show, or get a preferred seat without blocked sightlines, you'll need to line up early. Don't waste money and landfill space on endless bottles of water on your Caribbean cruise. Instead, bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up at the buffet or in your cabin each morning.

You will engage in all such activities off of the ship at your own risk.Carnival neither supervises nor controls tour operators actions, nor makes any representation either expressed or implied as to their suitability. Carnival sells tickets for all excursions as a convenience to guests only. Children between the ages of 4 to 12 years and teens between the ages of 13 to 18 years will be charged full adult price, or special child/teen prices when applicable and noted. Infants ages 3 and younger sitting on a parent’s lap and therefore not occupying a seat, are not charged for most shore excursions. There are also some shore excursions that require that each guest purchase a ticket, regardless of age.

Carnival cruise ships provide the bare minimum of toiletries — bar soap to wash your hands, dispensers of generic shampoo and body wash in the shower. Most cruisers hand their larger suitcases over to the porters at the cruise terminal, and the suitcases are delivered to their cabins later in the afternoon. Be smart about what goes in the bag you'll carry on board, so you can make the most of your first day on the ship. Suite guests and high-level members of Carnival's VIFP Club loyalty program receive extra perks and priority that average cruisers do not.

Keep in mind that if you do go that route, you will have to buy it for all remaining days of the cruise. Plans bought onboard or that give more bandwidth to stream movies will be more expensive. Also note that often you won’t be able (or willing) to use the data on your mobile phone, so an internet plan with Carnival will always come in handy. Before you book your Carnival cruise, it's worth comparing prices with third-party companies such as Viator. Rather than choosing a specific cabin, you are choosing a low cruise rate without knowing exactly what level of cabin you will get.

Carnival EasyPay is available on select cruises booked at least five months in advance. Pay the deposit when you book, and the cruise line will charge your credit card once a month until the cruise is paid in full, with no added fees. While the cruise line does attempt to assist in such instances, having updated travel documentation is immensely helpful. Furthermore, Carnival always recommends that guests travel with valid passports. However, Carnival does allow each guest to bring 12 cans or cartons of nonalcoholic drinks (like soda, juice or seltzer), as well as one bottle of wine.

If the kids want a sweet treat, steer them to the self-serve soft-serve ice cream and yogurt stations on the pool deck, which are available on a complimentary basis 24 hours a day. Another way to save on bottles of wine is by purchasing bottles of wine with Carnival directly before you board. Check out our article for additional reasons to book a no-fly Carnival cruise. Half Moon Cay, Carnival's private island in the Bahamas, is a great stop for a beach day.
